At the end of 2023, a unique project was completed in Chamonix as part of the rebranding of the former Mercure hotel,
20 days to create a magical forest
Work on the project began on November 25 and lasted 20 days.
Of course, time was not our ally – just before the hotel opened for the winter season every hour mattered, but it was not the first time we had to work under pressure.
The key to success was efficient organization and experience in this type of project.
Successful collaboration – art meets technology
To cooperate in the implementation, I invited ART Stepanov – a company well known in the industry, with extensive experience in creating thematic spaces.
It was a great opportunity to work together and mutually exchange ideas.
Together with the ART Stepanov team, we were able to fully realize our shared vision – the trees, which became the centerpiece of the hotel spaces, were more than just decoration.
Each of them had its own symbolic identity, and some even had subtly incorporated faces that added mystery to the realization.
The entire project was the result not only of artistic effort, but also of excellent cooperation at the technical and organizational level.
The project prepared by Airndesign Consulting was ambitious – creating a space that transports visitors to the world of Nordic legends is quite a challenge.
Our task was to make every detail reflect this vision – from the texture of the tree bark to the way the lighting enhances its mystical character.
Completion just in time for the season – project on the verge of completion
Of course, it was not without logistical challenges.
Coordinating such a large undertaking in such a short period of time required precise planning.
During the 20 days, there was no room for mistakes – everything had to work like clockwork, and each team had its own tasks to complete within the specified time.
Thanks to the experience of the entire team, the project managed to reach a happy ending – just before the official opening of the hotel for the winter season.
Lykke Hôtel & Spa – a place that takes you into the world of myths
This realization was not just a project, but rather the creation of an entirely new, immersive space that pushes the boundaries of standard hotel design.
Guests at the Lykke Hôtel & Spa don’t just stay overnight in elegant rooms – they are immersed in a world inspired by mythology and legends, which adds to the overall unique character.
Working on this project was a valuable experience for me – both because of the artistic freedom and because of working with people who, like me, are passionate about creating unique, thematic spaces.
It was through this approach that the Lykke Hôtel & Spa in Chamonix gained more than just new interiors – it gained a soul.
