Project Description
The artificial Grotto of Lourdes was built on the grounds of the Peace Garden. This grotto is a reproduction of the original Grotto of Lourdes in France, where, according to legend, Mary appeared to Bernadette Soubirous in 1858. This grotto completely covers the sacristy and restroom building, and its highest point is 6.5 meters high.
The project included the construction of a grotto made of artificial rock, as well as an observation deck on the roof with rock stairs leading up to it, and a stream on the grotto’s interior wall. The grotto also included an illuminated niche with a 2-meter statue of the Virgin Mary and a pot for climbing plants. As part of the project, we also made an altar of artificial rock.
