Tropical Pools - Binkowski Resort in Kielce is a rock decoration project delivered for a modern pool complex, whose most distinctive feature is the retractable roof over the swimming hall. The project was completed in 2019 and covered 750 m² of decorations within the water park space.
As part of the project, we designed and built artificial rocks, waterfalls, sculptures, a cave and decorative elements tailored to the tropical character of the facility. The decorations were integrated with the slide zone, mezzanine, slide run-out areas and technical elements of the pool hall, so they serve not only an aesthetic role but also a practical and masking function.
One of the most recognizable elements of the project is a cave with an ammonite relief more than 1.5 m in diameter, built into a rock wall. The scenery is complemented by a 1.5 m seahorse sculpture, a stone bench concealing shafts and ventilation systems, and two waterfalls supplied by six water points. Together, these elements create a coherent themed space inspired by nature, water and a tropical atmosphere.
The Tropical Pools project shows how artificial rocks for water parks, pool decorations and the theming of recreational spaces can increase a facility's appeal while solving practical interior architecture needs. The project combines the durability of concrete technologies, realistic sculpting of rock forms and the functionality required in high-humidity, heavily used facilities.
